Daily Devotions

MONDAY

“The Lord will guide you continually.” Isaiah 58:11

As I follow God’s guidance, the deep desires of my heart are fulfilled.

Any stress or anxiety we may be feeling about making a decision is a signal for us to give all to God in prayer. We can be sure that God’s guidance is always awaiting us. He is constantly revealing the way to fulfillment for us when we are making a choice about home, career, or any other matter. This gentle, steady guidance assures us that we are never alone in making any decision--no matter how minor or major it may seem.

Thank You, God, for Your guidance.

TUESDAY

“And to the centurion Jesus said, ‘Go; let it be done for you according to your faith.” And the servant was healed in that hour.” Matthew 8:13

My faith in God opens a world of wonder to me.

Faith has been described as a deep inner knowing that whatever we are seeking is already ours. We build our faith each time we acknowledge that we are God’s beloved creations. Because we know that our creator is always with us, we are open to His gifts to us of healing, prosperity, wisdom, and a myriad of other blessings. We claim the blessing that we are currently able to recognize, and we have faith that there are still other blessings we are yet to discover.

Thank You, God, for faith.

 WEDNESDAY

“If we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it in patience.”  Romans 8:25

I practice patience, for I know God is bringing forth good in my life.

At times all of us face situations that require patience; or perhaps we find some desired overcoming or attainment is taking more time and effort that we had thought necessary. But haven’t we also, at times, found that it is the extra bit of trusting and endurance that turns the tide? We can grow in patience by affirming that God is working in and through all that concerns us. Today, let us be willing to trust God and know that our good will come to us in whatever way, in at whatever time, God directs.

Thank You, God, for patience.

THURSDAY

Like good stewards of the manifold Grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.” 1 Peter 4:10

The Grace of God uplifts me and brings out the best in me.

A diamond in the rough bears little resemblance to the beautiful polished stone it will become. Like the unpolished stone, we are each filled with a natural beauty and light.  As we trust in God’s spirit within, we learn to value the inner light--the spiritual identity--of ourselves and others. Through Grace, God has given us all we could ever need to live up to our divine potential.  By Grace, we are gently and lovingly guided to using the special and unique talents and abilities that God has given us. And by Grace, gratefully share these gifts with others.

Thank You, God, for Your gift of Grace.

FRIDAY

“He went to him and bandaged his wounds…brought him to an inn, and took care of him.”  Luke 10:34

I reach out in spiritual awareness to bless and be blessed.

Even though we are aware of the presence of God within us, at times we may feel a need to reach out to another for help.  The truth is that God is present in every person. We can think of the great invisible bond formed by people reaching out to other people. And, whenever God is acknowledged as the source of all love and understanding, great things are possible. We share a spiritual connection that can never be broken--a faith and hope that, person by person, blesses the whole world community.

Thank You, God, for the gift of giving and receiving blessings.

SATURDAY

“Ask and it will be given you; search, and you will find, knock, and the door will be opened for you.”  Matthew 7:7

With God as provider of all good, my life is filled with abundance.

We can realize that God is the source and substance of all life. When we open our hearts and minds to a deeper awareness of the rich abundance available through God’s spirit, we will invite greater opportunities for good. We will be aware of the beauty of giving and receiving as the path to every-increasing good in our lives, and in the lives of those we love.  By giving, and then releasing any specific desire to God, we will be provided with all that we need to be sustained--all that we need to learn and grow.

Thank You, God, for the abundance.

SUNDAY

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives…Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor be afraid.” John 14:27

The peace of God is at the core of my being and I am serene.

You have the ability to bring the peace of God with you wherever you go.  In the very midst of a bustling crowd, driving on a busy freeway or relaxing at home, you can connect with the peace of God that is within your very soul. If you start to react to noisy neighbors or unruly traffic, remind yourself that you can choose to return to the peace of God within you. If you affirm to yourself, “The peace of God is at the core of my being and I am serene,” you will release yourself into the peace of God within you.

Thank You, God, for peace and serenity.
